She is just like everybody else...
She is just like everybody else.
She takes showers before workouts,
lets her sweat be the cleanse,
never opens her paystubs,
knowing she has made just enough.
She drinks coffee dark enough to show she is
tough,
brings the dog to work,
lets her curl by her feet
as a quiet companion for her soul.
She finds beauty in the ordinary,
dances alone,
in kitchens, parking lots,
sometimes right in front of her work.
She cries with the ocean,
speaks to the ones that have gone quiet,
and wonders how this dream could feel so real.
